children in the UK under the age of 18 have a
tooth removed every 10 minutes
due to bad dental hygiene
& using mouthwash strengthens teeth
up to 99% more than brushing alone and is safe for
children over 6 years old, under supervision
but how can parents help their children when they can’t
envision consequences of their actions as easily as adults
strategy: teach your kids to spit
we'd create ar posters that interact with their environment
and place them in town centres
as well as supermarket aisles

they'd introduce a new game called 'smile savers'

the premise of the game is that it teaches children about the consequences of their actions through smile-related objectives

think 'the sims' but with lots of pearly whites

the posters would have qr codes linking to various app stores

kids would collect items along their way, healthy ones translate to more points which can be used to customise your avatar to make them look more like you
sweets and snacks can halt progress and cause boss fights
when your smile weakens, it becomes harder to progress in the game
packaging would be redesigned with litmus paper strips attached to the bottle, which would be used to determine the pH levels of the kids mouths

scannable codes would also provide a link to the game

How strong is your smile?
Smile Savers
to gain boosts in-game, random events would open up the camera and ask parents to scan their kids litmus paper

these could also at set times, chosen by the parents, to make sure the kids are looking after their teeth properly
